Materials, tools, PPE, fuel, training — photograph every receipt straight away. HMRC can ask to see them for up to 6 years.

Collect your CIS deduction statements
Your contractor should give you a statement each month showing what's been deducted. These offset directly against your tax — make sure you have them all.

Put money aside for your tax bill
A rough guide: set aside 25–30% of your profit. Your estimated position is in the Summary tab. CIS already paid will reduce what's owed.
